This has been a busy, but rewarding month at Jacketta Sweeping Services. Just last week, our company owner, Debbie Jacketta, received the Woman Business Owner of the Year award from the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) Salt Lake City chapter. The presentation was made during the annual Awards & Installation banquet, which was an amazing event at Pierpont Place.
The NAWBO Woman Business Owner of the Year Award is presented annually to a woman who has demonstrated strong leadership skills in growing and managing a successful business that is more than three years old, while also demonstrating those skills in volunteer and civic activities. On learning of the award, Debbie noted “This is a great honor for me and our company. I could not have done this without great staff and a very supportive family. To be honored as the Woman Business Owner of the Year by our Salt Lake City NAWBO chapter is exciting, as well as humbling, as I know I am now in the company of some amazing past recipients of the award.”
We at Jacketta Sweeping Services know first-hand that Debbie is very deserving of this award. She gives fully to the company and her employees, and has done a terrific job of growing the business since she took ownership. Her vision and business acumen continues to make Jacketta Sweeping a top name in the sweeping industry.
The company surpassed the million dollar annual revenue mark back in 2007, just 5 years after Debbie bought the family business. By investing in state of the art street sweeping equipment, Jacketta Sweeping Services is able to meet the growing demands and need for better environmental outcomes even though they are presently not mandated in Utah. Civic stewardship is important to Debbie, and she is active in both community and industry groups.
Local media has taken note, and Debbie was recently featured in articles in both the Salt Lake Tribune and the Deseret News. Please join us in congratulating Debbie on this amazing honor. Your comments are welcome below.
