Jacketta Sweeping Supports the Community Through Volunteer Efforts

At Jacketta Sweeping, we believe strongly in giving back, whether it’s to a community group, a charity, or industry related association, volunteerism is part of the engine that keeps our society humming along.

Many of our employees generously give their time to various things throughout the year, and we’re going to start highlighting them in this blog, so we can give them credit publicly, but also hopefully encourage readers to volunteer somewhere. There are hundreds of groups who actively welcome volunteers. Just find one you value, and get to it!

Here’s our first Volunteer Highlight:

One of the biggest volunteer efforts we help with is the National Association of Women Business Owners’ (NAWBO-SLC) annual women’s golf tournament. Debbie Jacketta is again Chairperson for the event, and she’s knee-deep in planning now.

It is the single largest fundraiser held by the non-profit business association every year. Proceeds go to help fund the ongoing educational programs for women business owners. In addition, each year the group selects a local non-profit charity that serves women and makes a donation to help with its mission.

The 9 Hole shotgun start event will take place September 18th at the River Oaks Golf Course in Sandy. An avid golfer, Debbie got involved with planning the tournament a few years ago, and continues, now serving as the Chair.

She and her committee are furiously working to land sponsors to make the event more than just golfing fun. There will be plenty of opportunity to network, including at the breakfast, on the links, and at the lunch and social hour.

Golfers get a stuffed goody bag, full of gifts and mementos. Some of the fun things golfers can do are purchase mulligans and putting forgiveness. There will also be some great prizes given during the social hour.

Sponsor opportunities abound, giving businesses ample access to a dynamic and diverse group of women who make purchasing decisions for both their businesses and personal needs.

Debbie says they are still accepting golfer registrations, and you can sign up for the tournament now. If you are interested in learning more about sponsorship opportunities, call 385-312-5334.

Needless to say, here at Jacketta Sweeping we’re all looking forward to seeing pictures from the event. We know Debbie will be golfing that day!
We’d love to hear from you in our blog comments—what types of organizations do you like to support with your volunteer hours?
